Jill Di Donato is a writer, teacher, and speaker focusing on the narratives of women. Currently, she's the fashion editor at Culture Trip. She holds a BA from Barnard College and an MFA from Columbia University. Her first novel Beautiful Garbage was published by She Writes Press in 2013 and she is currently at work on a collection of essays. As a journalist, she’s covered celebrity news, politics, and style. She writes essays about gender, fashion, relationships, art, education, personal memoir, and feminism with credits including CNN, VICE, Salon, Autre, Refinery29, The Katie Show, Huff Post Live, Bustle, Electric Literature, The Good Men Project, Tin House, and Glamour. For five years, she wrote a sex column at the Huffington Post. She’s taught writing at Columbia University, Barnard College, and The Fashion Institute of Technology, and works individually with students as a writing tutor. As an educator, she specializes in using all genres of writing, including fiction, memoir, and the lyric essay to mitigate anxiety and learning differences. She founded the Women Writing and Intersectionality Conference at Barnard College in 2013 and advocates for the education of girls around the world. She spends her time in New York and Los Angeles.
